The 21st Century Church
The Church That Christ Intended You To Be
Dr. Charles Jackson
“...after much prayer and meditation, God spoke to me.”
I combed through scriptures, reading about the church and more about Jesus and His relationship with his disciples, especially focusing on Peter and his bond with the church.
What was its purpose? Why couldn't the thoughts of the church, the Body of Christ, the pure meaning of its intent be left alone?
My brothers and sisters, after countless days of tumultuous soul searching and restless nights, God has revealed to me that the transformation begins with the acceptance of His Son.
However, at times we are alienated and an enemy of Christ, destitute by the wicked works of our minds. Conversely, through his sacrificial death, He has reconciled us, to present us “holy, unblameable and unreproveable” to himself.
When you journey through the pages of this book, allow the process to continue. Jesus works from the inside out. The mind is the center for change. As you continue to walk in Christ, “Let this mind be in you, which was also in Christ Jesus”.
Let this book be the compass that guides you back on course so that you too, can become the church that Christ intended you to be!
Dr. Charles Jackson was born in Itta Bena, Mississippi, the son of Henrietta Williams. Charles grew up in a busy household with eight siblings. During his youth, Charles attended segregated public schools before graduating from Leflore County High School at the age of seventeen. After two years at the University of Toledo, Charles decided to enter the armed forces. He was ultimately promoted to First Lieutenant before retiring with twenty years of service and an honorable discharge.
However, his professional success never distracted him from his commitment to Christ. In 2009, Charles graduated Summa Cum Laude from Andersonville Theological Seminary, receiving a Masters of Divinity. In the fall of 2009, Charles was accepted into the doctoral program at Andersonville. He graduated Magna Cum Laude, receiving a Doctoral degree in Theology (Th. D) in 2011.
Since his arrival in the Tampa Bay area, Charles has been a member of the St. John Progressive Missionary Baptist Church. He serves as an associate minister under the Pastoralship of Rev. Dr. Bartholomew Banks.
Charles is the proud father of two beautiful daughters and grandfather to two energetic boys.
