Hoping for a Miracle
A Memoir
by
Lynn-Marie McIlvain
Hoping For a Miracle is the true story of Lynn-Marie, an aspiring teacher, as she embarks on a ten-year journey to become a mother. She faces heartache and uncertainty along the way. At times, loneliness and devastation are hard to bear. Despite the hardships, she tries her best to remain optimistic. When she deals with the emotional roller coaster of trying each month, she hopes for a miracle every time. When Lynn-Marie finally succeeds in getting pregnant, she wonders if her dreams of baby wishes will be answered. Through advocacy and the connection of other women she finds comfort and hope. This is a heartbreaking tale that shows that life, as we imagine it, is not always like the fairy tale we heard growing up. Sometimes there will be trials and tribulations along the way, and the things we go through can have a long-lasting impact.
Since Lynn-Marie McIlvain has enjoyed writing for many years, she felt compelled to publish this book to encourage other women to seek answers and have hope. Since pregnancy loss and infertility are not often talked about, she wants to offer an inside view. Above all else, Lynn-Marie hopes that her story will be a stepping-stone to encourage supportive conversations. Lynn-Marie has been working as a special education teacher for almost thirty years. When she's not teaching, she enjoys reading a variety of books, crocheting, completing jigsaw puzzles, and watching movies with her family. She also loves spending time outdoors, whether it is at the beach or in the woods. Lynn-Marie lives on the East Coast with her husband, daughter, and two Boston terriers.
