by
Teri Hofford
In this deeply personal account, Teri Hofford takes you on a rollercoaster ride through her past, chronicling her evolution from a young and curious girl to an empowered feminist, photographer, and woman brimming with self-confidence and self-worth. This memoir is not just a recounting of her vibrant adventures and the life-altering experiences she encountered along the way, but also a brave exploration of the often difficult path to self-acceptance. Through her candid narrative, Teri invites you to accompany her as she navigates the tumultuous landscape of societal expectations and the pursuit of authenticity. Experience her joys, challenges, and lessons learned, all woven with a thread of wry humor and unflinching honesty. From her encounters with casual sex and assault, her grappling with grief, and her yearning for true love, Teri leaves no stone unturned. This is more than just a memoir. It's a beacon for those struggling with self-acceptance, a compass guiding you along the path towards inner healing. Journey with Teri as she returns home, not just to her roots, but to a profound reconnection with her soul. It's a journey of self-discovery you won't want to miss.
Teri Hofford is a body image educator, author and photographer who encourages folks to challenge their beliefs and biases through creativity and curiosity so they can move closer to self and body acceptance. Teri is the author of 3 other books: A Good Day For Seeding - a tribute to her father, illustrated by her best friend Stephanie Robinson, The Geode Theory: Chipping Away at Body Image —a guide for folks to improve their relationship to their bodies, and 2200 Characters or Less — a compilation of poetry and prose written during the pandemic for her Instagram account dedicated to shattering societal ideals and exploring her life experiences. Teri still loves to travel and see the world, teaching, photographing, and inspiring folks along the way and as a result, she created Body Image Bootcamp, a series of retreats to encourage folks to move through their body image and improve their relationship to self. Whether it's taking off her clothes on stage as she tells her body image story to a large audience at The Portrait Master's Conference, imparting the importance of diversity in the photography industry through the Adobe Development Program, or sharing her knowledge on the TedX stage about why folks look bad in photos, Teri seeks every opportunity to educate and empower through curiosity and creativity. At the time of writing this, Teri is living in Winnipeg, Manitoba, Canada with her husband Ryan and her cat Missy P. Teri loves to connect with her readers, so reach out on Instagram @terihofford, send an email to: hello@terihofford.com, and head to: www.terihofford.com for more ways to move through your relationship to yourself.
