Cultivating Harmony
Navigating Our Complex World Through Mindfulness and Emotional Regulation
by Stephen Lister

Mindfulness has become a hot buzzword lately, but many people are not aware of the benefits of practicing. Mindfulness and emotional regulation are well-researched and evidence-based practices shown to promote positive shifts in one’s mental state and physiology. If we want to thrive instead of simply survive, we can train our brain to boost our concentration, flexibility, and awareness. Cultivating Harmony covers topics such as: • Functioning with a full mind vs. being mindful • Reducing anxiety to increase chances of success • Adopting a growth mindset and embracing challenges • Improving decision-making, time management, and other self-regulation skills In Cultivating Harmony, Stephen Lister synthesizes decades of research and personal experience into the core principles of mindfulness that are useful for a new practitioner, an experienced one, and everyone else in between.

Testimonials are forthcoming from a few of my beta readers.

Stephen Lister has been working as a workshop and seminar facilitator in mental health and mindfulness for twelve years. Before that, he spent twenty-five years advocating for students and their parents in the Ontario and Bermuda school systems as a teacher of special needs children and adolescents. He is a member of Behaviour Management Systems Training (BMST), Mindful Educators, Mindful.org, the Coalition of Schools Educating Mindfully (COSEM), LivingWorks Suicide Prevention, Toastmasters Oshawa, two divisions in the Chamber of Commerce, and Harvard Business Review. He has personally benefitted from mindfulness and emotional regulation practices ever since he was young. By living authentically through the mindfulness practices and strategies he developed over his lifetime, he not only survived, but thrived through his parents’ illnesses and a near-fatal motorcycle accident. Stephen currently lives in Oshawa, Ontario with his wife Jill, daughter Elizabeth, two cats, and two dogs.
