From Nothing To 90
Failures, Successes, Betrayal and Overcoming Doubt
by Will Klein

In From Nothing to 90, Will Klein chronicles his life from hardscrabble beginnings as an adopted child in a Saskatchewan family struggling through the “Dirty Thirties” to early success as a newsboy and onto great business achievement despite numerous setbacks throughout his life. In colourful, humorous, observant prose, Will takes readers from Depression-era Saskatchewan through his rise in business in the early days of television to his leadership in a storied public service organization that takes him around the world and into a whirlwind of political machinations that threatens to destroy him. At its heart, From Nothing to 90 is an inspiring story about Saskatchewan: its history, hardships, and opportunities. But it’s also a book about individual initiative, seizing opportunity, and never giving up even after government betrayal and setbacks that might appear insurmountable.

They literally saved the lives of many close family friends during my tenure and beyond. SkyMed has served Airstream owners regardless of world location to return home quickly for medical treatment. SkyMed is the longest tenured service provider to Airstream owners, a testament to its value.” —Larry Huttle, retired President and Chairman of Airstream, the iconic recreational vehicle. ‘This is a How to Book on recovering from adversity. If there is one word to describe Will Klein, for me, it would be inspirational. In the 37 years I have known him I have always been impressed by his business acumen; his positive nature is contagious. We first met in Baton Rouge, Louisiana, I was a young, aspiring life insurance agent that needed a jump start and a mentor. Will inspired and encouraged me. Years later I remembered those generous traits and reached out to him to be Audit Committee Chairman of FTFC. You can always count on him. Read From Nothing to 90 and you will know why.” —Gregg Zahn, Chairman, President and CEO, First Trinity Financial Corporation, Tulsa, Oklahoma. “From Nothing to 90 reveals a treasure-trove of historical pearls which shaped the great people of Saskatchewan in the early 1900s (and beyond), including my father, Mr. Hockey, Gordie Howe. Will Klein reminds us that EVERYONE has a story (or stories) worth telling.” —Murray A. Howe M.D., Division Director, Musculoskeletal Radiology & Sports Medicine Imagining, Toledo, Ohio, Radiological Associates, Pro Medica Health Care Systems. And national best-selling author of Nine Lessons I learned from My Father. “Will Klein is the epitome of what I and millions just like me aspire to be when we turn 90. I told Will for years he was a gifted writer. He just proved me right.” —Patricia Drain, motivational and personal coach to thousands seeking life improvement via PatriciaDrain.com. Author of 15 books including ‘Hire Me” now in its 12th printing and available in several languages. "A Canadian businessman shares stories from his life and career. Klein opens his memoir with an anecdote from the time he was a little boy in 1930s Saskatchewan, a back-seat passenger in his uncle’s brand-new Buick, scanning the roadsides for discarded bottles that could be redeemed for cash deposits. The combination of humor and passion in every chapter proves irresistible, and the author’s willingness to look squarely at his own darkest times gives the book an unexpected dramatic heft." —Kirkus Reviews"

Will Klein has been a global leader of the Kinsmen service clubs, which began his travel to more than forty countries. He has had multiple careers: in early television, serving as the CEO of Saskatchewan Diamond Jubilee and Canada Centennial celebrations, and leading two privately financed companies to greatness. On a business or personal basis, Will has visited the ten provinces of Canada and all but one of the states in the USA. He is a dual citizen of Canada and the United States and in 1983 was appointed to the Order of Canada for his distinguished service to the country. At the age of sixty-one, he began building a new company, SkyMed, which has protected more than 500,000 traveling members. It is regarded by many in the travel industry as the gold standard of emergency medical air repatriation. At the age of ninety, it may be his greatest legacy.
