Beyond the Rabbit Hole
Writing My Way To Tomorrow
by
EJ Swanson
Through lyrical poetry and sharp, insightful prose, EJ Swanson reflects on her life, questioning what it means to grow old and quietly observing contemporary culture. Beyond the Rabbit Hole is heartfelt, humorous, defiant, and wise. From Alberta to the Okanagan to Quintana Roo, Swanson takes readers on a journey through marriage and intimacy, parenthood, beautiful dreamscapes, meditation states, worn pathways of chronic pain, and so many bodies of water.
EJ Swanson is a wife, a mother, a grandmother, a thinker, and a writer. For more than thirty years she made her living as a lawyer. Now, in retirement, she creates by way of art and writing, and stays sane by way of mindful meditation. Through the writing of this book, she has worked to unpack her full life, sorting out what to take and what to leave behind in the next stages. She and her husband James divide their time between their homes in Sherwood Park, Alberta, Fintry, British Columbia, and Mahahual, Quintana Roo, Mexico.
