When Christine and Tim Stevich decided to renovate a unique old house they had lived in for over a decade, located outside a small, rural town, they thought they had made the right decision. After renovating it into their dream home, they celebrated and settled down to enjoy their quiet new lifestyle. Unfortunately, some in their community had a different idea. With no warning or reason, people from the area began shouting at them from the road, honking at all hours of the night, and even creeping onto their property to look through the windows. Soon, hostile interactions with these people turned into a daily occurrence, and they began to fear for their safety. As the harassment grew uglier and more persistent, the Stevichs turned to the police and town council, only to find them unsympathetic and unable to restore peace to their neighborhood. They were alone and trapped in an unfathomable hell. This is the horrifying story of one couple’s experience with ongoing and vicious harassment. It recounts the daily assaults they endured, the methods they used to cope and defend themselves, and ultimately, how their terrible ordeal came to an end. After personally living through the events detailed in this book, Tim Stevich knew he needed to write of his family’s experiences. In today’s heightened political climate, Tales from Asshole Road is intended to help raise awareness of harassment and intolerance, providing others with a first-hand account of how one family learned to cope and endure through such hardships. Tim lives with his wife outside a small town in Ontario, Canada.
