My Very Special Nighty
by Katherine McCallum

A very special nighty My grandma made for me. The soft, the warm, the blue, the long; But that’s not all, you’ll see. It’s time to get ready for school, but there’s a problem: the nighty that this young girl’s grandmother made for her keeps eating her clothes! First it eats her underwear, and then it eats her pants. Even her accessories end up in the nighty’s hungry mouth! Mom is starting to have enough of this game, but what can she do? How will she ever get ready for school with this very hungry nighty on the loose? My Very Special Nighty is a whimsical, funny story that reminds us not to sweat the small stuff. It’s important to have fun and use our imaginations—and even if we get a little carried away with our games, it’ll all be okay in the end.

Katherine McCallum is the author of Scooper (2024). She began writing when she was in high school, trying to purge her teenaged angst. She had no idea rhyming stories would come to her so easily, and quickly fell in love with the format. In her free time, Katherine loves sewing, knitting, baking, and trying out new crafts. She lives in Thompson, Manitoba, with her husband, and within walking distance of all their children and grandchildren
