Adventures of Moss the Little Sled Dog
by
David Cumber
Moss the little sled dog just retired, but she’s ready for her next big adventure. When Moss is adopted by Jordi and Devon, she moves from a forest in northern Ontario to the city of Ottawa. Overwhelmed by the new sights and sounds of the city, she yearns to run just like when she was a sled dog. But perhaps, adventures can still be found even after a sled dog retires. As times passes, Moss settles into her new life until, one night, she wakes up to the smell of campfire. Was she back in the forest? No, she is still in her new home in Ottawa, where Jordi and Devon are fast asleep. With the flames spreading quickly, can Moss save her new family in time? Inspired by a real dog, Moss is a hero to her family.
David Cumber was inspired to write this story for his grandson Eli based on true events that occurred for his daughter and her dog Moss. This is the first book in the planned series The Adventures of Moss the Little Sled Dog. David lives in Cambridge, Ontario. He has four children and two grandchildren.
