Second Chances
Starting Over in the Peace Corps
by
Denise Sieber
Sooner or later, many of us find ourselves stuck, dog-paddling through life without purpose or direction. Sometimes, only the drastic will do. If this sounds familiar, Second Chances will resonate with you. This is a story about defying the odds in search of the authentic. It’s about letting go of the familiar to embrace the unknown. From a Maryland suburb to the middle of Ghana, West Africa, Denise Sieber recounts her stories of hardship, humor, and healing in service of others.
Denise served two years in the Peace Corps as a business education volunteer teaching typing and English in Ghana, West Africa. Later, she studied journalism and earned a degree in international relations from Simmons College, Massachusetts. Since then, she has worked as a writer, editor, researcher, and analyst in various professions. Currently, she lives with her husband in Jalisco, Mexico, where she continues to write.
