The Immortal War
by
Richard. C. Bette
The Beginning Histories: The Immortal War is the first in a series of stories from the fantasy world known as Illnu, a world created as a prison to hold the evil that plagued The Void that is called Owa. Told from the point-of-view of Kora the World Historian, this first volume tells of the Brothers that first roamed The Void and from them the Minor Beings that were made as their children and the war that would eventually destroy the Holy City and end with the imprisoning of the evil brother. This is followed by the Immortal Era on the world known as Illnu, from these beings that Endless War that was fought in Owa would continue, ending with the Rouge Immortals being locked away in the Land of Death. This story would end with the beginning of the Mortal Era and would be a direct lead off to the next novel in the series.
Born in Fort Saskatchewan, Richard Bette was raised in the small town of Collingwood Ontario where he discovered his passion for reading and storytelling at a young age, this led him to dream of writing a novel. Though school was tough and life’s early challenges led him down a hard road, yet Richard's love of words never left him. After a run in with the law he had to confront the reality of his mental disabilities, Richard embarked on a long journey of self-discovery and healing. Through years of determination, Richard not only overcame his trials but used his experiences to strengthen his spirit. With a renewed sense of purpose and the miracle of his son’s birth, he poured his heart into his writing. The result of this long journey was his debut novel, The Immortal War. Proving that no matter where you start or what lays in your way any dream can come true with hard work and determination.
