A Collection of Personal Essays
by
Marg Heidebrecht
2020. Yeah, that. Everything stopped except Marg Heidebrecht's habit of writing for ninety minutes a day. Four years, forty essays later, the author of In the Shade: Friendship, Loss, and the Bruce Trail provides us with this new collection. Intended as a legacy for family and friends, her insights and humour will be appreciated by others trying to make sense of their own lives in a world that’s constantly changing.
Comments from readers of In the Shade Packed with wisdom and food for thought. (Nancy P.) The imagery throughout was so imaginative, clear and yet so simple to visualize. (Shelley R.) Thank you for such an exquisite collection. (Cheryl E.) It seems to me a very brave and selfless thing to share your experience and insights so openly and honestly. (Jim S.)
Marg Heidebrecht lives and writes in Dundas, Ontario, enfolded and inspired by the Niagara Escarpment. A retired educator, she enjoys early morning walks with her spouse and their dogs. She provides helping hands for the sneaky crew of grandchildren who live nearby. Her days also include books, choir, volunteer work, friends, theatre, and BritBox. Were she inclined to tattoos, “Take Me Outside” would encircle her wrist.
