The Milk Monster
by
R.M. McDonald
Max couldn’t be more excited: Grandpa is moving in! Max and his grandpa love to spend time together. They go for walks, watch movies, and learn about the stars. They have so much fun, and Max can’t wait for Grandpa to live with him. But that first night after Grandpa moves in, Max hears strange noises in the kitchen. Is there a monster in the house? And if there is, can he prove it? Max will need all of his courage to trap the monster…and face whatever he finds! This heartwarming and funny story for young readers is all about the beautiful bond between a grandson and his grandfather, the complexity of multigenerational families, and the imagination that drives Max to see a Milk Monster in the kitchen shadows.
Rechell McDonald is a mother of three children, a veteran, a freelance content editor, and a writer. She was inspired to write The Milk Monster by the relationship between her father and her oldest son, whose name is also Max. Acknowledging how special their bond was, and reminding her son of the many wonderful moments they shared, is a gift she is honoured to give. Rechell lives with her husband, Ryan, and their three children, Max, Fox, and Nina. They have two cats, Maggie and Forest, and a dog named Buffy.
