Requited
by Kerri Olivia

What is unrequited love? What is requited love? And what does it take to heal when love is gone? In this honest, enthralling debut collection of poetry and prose, Kerri Olivia gives voice to love, loss, grief, and healing. Her insightful reflections, striking imagery, and potent storytelling lead us to what lies beyond the tender glow of romance and raw depths of heartache: a rediscovery that the foundational form of requited love comes from within.

Kerri Olivia is an author, crochet artist, writer, entrepreneur, and advocate for mental health, spiritual growth, and emotional wellness. She was born in Toronto, ON and grew up in Brooklyn, NY. She has a bachelor of arts in Journalism and a minor in English. Books have been her safe space from childhood until now. She was inspired to become a journalist after reading Satin Doll by Karen Quinones Miller. She became interested in the complexities of writing a body of work from start to finish when she read Song of Solomon by Toni Morrison for the first time. Kerri began to write REQUITED in 2016 and has been a creative entrepreneur ever since. She runs her publishing and production company, Sparks Unlocked Co., and hosts the Crochet and Chapters Podcast. She strives to encourage authenticity and self-expression in those who are highly sensitive and neurodivergent, advocating for the exploration of their extensive interests and experiences as a means of empowerment. When she is not writing, she is crafting, painting, tending to her plants, or singing somewhere at the top of her lungs. More of Olivia’s work can be found via her website (sparksunlockedco.com), newsletter (bit.ly/sparksunlockedco), and Sparks Unlocked Co. on YouTube, TikTok, Pinterest, and Instagram.
