Gracie's Playful, Dusty Day
by Lorraine Derksen Janzen

Gracie, a mischievous beagle, is up to her shenanigans again. She’s desperate to show her owner what’s hiding under the bed. Is it a ball? A piece of kibble? No, it’s dust bunnies! This delightful rhyming story is sure to have kids mesmerized by the imaginative world that exists just out of sight. Dust bunnies swinging on hair ties! Dust bunnies eating at a red play brick table. Even dust bunnies reading books! With all the delight and fun only kids know, the little girl and Gracie race around the house finding all the odds and ends dust bunnies love to play with. Gracie's Playful, Dusty Day shows us the magical world we can find if we open our minds to possibilities, imagination, and creation!

Lorraine Derksen Janzen worked as an educational assistant for many years before she started her own business, where she helps kids learn through playtime and creativity. Lorraine is hardwired with a vivid imagination; to her, everything is a poem. She loves reading, piano, animals and nature, gardening, and creating through crafts. Gracie's Playful, Dusty Day is a story based on playful experiences her daughter had when she was young, with the family dog, Gracie. Lorraine lives in Airdrie, Alberta, Canada, with her husband of 28 years. Together they have two adult children, a daughter and a son. Though Gracie passed away in 2022, she was in their lives for thirteen years.
