Liam loves playing outside at the park and having pajama parties. But what Liam loves more than anything in the world…is chocolate cake! Since he'll be turning five and will be a big boy soon, Liam decides that he’ll have the biggest birthday party in the world. He makes flyers and posters and hangs them up around town, inviting everyone he knows—and a few people he doesn’t! He decorates his backyard with anything he can find around the house, all to prepare for the best birthday ever. Will Liam end up having the biggest chocolate cake birthday party he's always dreamed of? Or will he end up with the biggest surprise of his life?
Angela’s son Liam always wants her to tell him a story before bed, to help him sleep. One night, Angela’s husband heard loud laughter and talking from the room. He asked Angela what story she was telling…and it was the story of Liam’s chocolate cake birthday! He convinced her to write it down so that she wouldn’t forget, and soon her bedtime story had transformed into a book—the very one you’re holding now. Angela lives in Kelowna, British Columbia, with her husband, two kids, and two dogs, Maple Syrup and Zebrano.
