The Spiritual Life
Finding Freedom From Homelessness, Hunger, and Heroin
by
Tyler G. Walton
In our modern selfie and soundbite society, so many of us struggle with connection and self-acceptance. We rely on our keyboards and screens, and masks that hide who we really are … even from ourselves. Rather than having character, we become characters. Rather than being grateful for what we have, we feel entitled to all of it and more. With this mindset, it is easy to fool ourselves into thinking that we are fine the way we are, and that “they” are the problem, abdicating any responsibility for our failures or failings and remaining stuck in situations and circumstances that hurt ourselves and everyone around us. Whether we’re facing the rock bottom of homelessness and drug addiction or simply strained relationships with friends and loved ones, an examination of our self-defeating beliefs and habits can make a world of difference. The Spiritual Life: Finding Freedom From Homelessness, Hunger, and Heroin takes readers on a journey from the depths of despair and dejection to the rejuvenation of a life worth living, all through an inward focus that helps nurture and develop a healthier outward look.
"Great resource. Clear, thoughtful, and articulate. A great resource to discover how to get 'unstuck'." —Kirk Austin, PhD
