Sun Set Moon Rise
a sweet surrender of poems
by Maria Sayde Hraiki

Everyone—no matter our differences—share the same sun, moon, and stars. Life is working through divine order because the universe lives within each and every one of us. This is why everything along your journey has led you right here.

This inspiring, ethereal, and triumphant collection of poems navigates loss, healing, and love. Maria Sayde Hraiki’s poetry speaks to those of us who have been wronged but still forgave, those who are trying our hardest to be strong but still want to feel soft, and those of us not afraid to surrender to love.

This collection is a reminder that nature is urging us to reconnect, and these poems will take us on a journey through the darkness and through ourselves, guiding us to find the light. Find the courage to surrender and in doing so, find peace.

Maria Sayde Hraiki studied psychology then went on to specialize in Creative Arts Therapy at the New School in New York City which was a pivotal point in her creative career. She has been awarded the opportunity to read her poetry and display her art at many literary and creative events. Maria’s poetry has been featured in multiple publications including Blueprint Magazine and won a poetry prize with Button Factory Arts where her writing was displayed on buses and trains in the Waterloo Region of Ontario, Canada.

Maria is a selenophile, an artist and a poet. She is a former pageant queen who is always seeking beauty in all things. She is an advocate of lifelong learning, and is constantly deepening her knowledge by adding to her list of academic accomplishments with over ten diplomas and certificates that range from therapy to health and wellness. Alongside her academic studies, she finds nature and the universe to be the greatest teacher of all.

Maria currently lives in Ontario with her loving husband, daughter, and son. Sun Set Moon Rise is her first book.
