Christmas With Maddy
by
Charlene M Cavers
It is Christmas Time at Maddy's house, what could possibly go wrong? Just add one little West Highland White Terrier and Christmas will never be the same! Christmas With Maddy is the third book in the children's series, The Maddy Chronicles, a series written about a real life Westie and her real life adventures. As Maddy navigates her way around Christmas decorations, trees and presents, she keeps her family on their toes. In true Westie fashion Maddy plunges into the Christmas season with daring and spunk. Looks like Maddy has won this one.....or has she?
"Based on the real-life adventures of a family pup, this Christmas tale captures Maddy’s personality and joie de vivre, rendering the holiday in a dog’s-eye view. Cavers May’s illustrations are a mix of drawings and sketches that are nearly photorealistic and capture both Maddy’s mischief and sweetness equally. ...young canine lovers will enjoy Maddy’s first Christmas experience." - Kirkus Reviews
About the Author: In her third book, Charlene M. Cavers has drawn on her childhood experiences on the farm to bring Maddy the Westie to life for young readers. A grandmother of three, Charlene originally wrote about her pet dog so that she could read the stories to her grandchildren. A strong believer in the power of books to educate and entertain children, Charlene is now sharing her stories with the world. After raising her two sons on the family farm, and retiring from a successful career in the medical field, Charlene now lives with her partner, Dave, and travels between Fort St. John, British Columbia and Berwyn, Alberta. About the Illustrator: Margaret Cavers May grew up on the farm where Maddy had all her adventures and has used her artistic talent to bring the little Westie back to life! She and her husband, Dean, still live near Fort St. John, where they raised their two children. With a degree in History and a diploma in Fine Arts, Margaret combines her love of reading and drawing in The Maddy Chronicles.
