Adena was born on a homestead farm in Northern Saskatchewan, moved to Calgary Alberta with her family at age five. Left high school and married her husband at a very young age 58 years ago. They raised five children and are grandparents of eleven. Returned to finish high school after most of her family was grown. Graduated from University of Calgary at a mature age and taught for Calgary Board of Education for 15 years. Several years after retiring from her teaching career, she served with RSVP ministries as Regional Director for Alberta and B.C, as well as Speaker Coordinator. Adena has experienced many losses during her lifetime and several of these times inspired her to start writing insights from the scripture readings given to her for comfort, joy and peace. She writes about the loss of her mom, her sister, her son, her grandson and the loss of her beloved grampa. She credits her strong faith and relationship with God for the peace and joy accompanying her experiences and bringing her through unscathed, with a good measure of normalcy, sense of humor and still loving life. Completing this manuscript was an amazing and enjoyable labor of love for Adena.
