From life on an Indian Reserve in 1955 to the loss of both parents by age 3, to foster homes and a placement in an Orphanage, Alfie struggles to find the meaning of his life while growing up in the big city of Toronto. He spends a great deal of time searching for self-love, but only continues on a downhill suicidal spiral of addictions. Alfie is an example that with the help of many therapeutic interventions, it is possible to live a healthy and balanced life.
