Friends and Foes
by Carey Scheppner

From the creator of The Dragon Mage Trilogy Comes Book II of The Mech and Magic trilogy That pits technology against magic Getting the dwarves, humans and elves to unite was the easy part. Now the challenge lies in getting the creatures on the mainland to join in. Finding allies is the primary objective of the heroes, because without them, there will be no way to challenge the mechs on the wizards’ home planet. But war is already raging on the main continent, where creatures of all kinds reside, including orcs, ogres, goblins, harpies, and even dragons. Some creatures are in favour of mech technology, while others are against it. The only way to ascertain whether the creatures are in favour of the mechs is if they wield the increasing supply of mech lasers that are finding their way across the continent. But to fight against that often requires the use of those very weapons, meaning that friend cannot be distinguished from foe when the fighting begins. Yet even with these allies, will it be enough? The heroes will need to find unique and clever ways to fight the mechs to keep ahead of them. It is a daunting task, and, as usual, time is of the essence.

Carey Scheppner is a first generation Canadian who grew up in a northern Ontario community. An avid reader ever since he could read, Carey grew to enjoy the fantasy genre the most. As an Electronics Engineering Technician, he excelled in the art of electronics. He also tutored English and mathematics in college. Carey was the director of a credit union for twenty years and picked up skills in accounting, which he still utilizes to this day. Carey’s interest in fantasy novels and games never diminished, and seeing the numbers of novels with predictable characters and outcomes, he decided to embark on writing his own fantasy novels. He wanted to ensure plenty of action and interesting characters to leave the reader thrilled with the unlimited possibilities of a fantasy world. Carey enjoys the country lifestyle and enjoys fishing and hunting. It is a means of leaving the civilized world behind to breathe in the fresh country air, where inspiration is born. This leads to an unleashing of the imagination and the creation of strange new worlds. . .
