Where The Soil Remembers
Earth
by C Lynn

If time is said to heal all wounds, why do some heartbreaks and losses feel fresh years later? Maybe it’s because love asks us to hand over pieces of ourselves to build trust. But with heartbreak, we never get them back. We must rebuild ourselves anew. This work is individual, winding, and filled with dead ends. Sometimes it’s easier to stay lost without someone to guide you. Poet C Lynn felt this too, until she found her own way through poetry, reflection, and nature. In the second book of the Alchemy of Her Soul series, Where the Soil Remembers: Earth, Lynn reconnects with the elements and evokes the earth. Nature grounds these poems and artwork as they dig deep into the many layers of the heart and soul. Moving through marriage and motherhood, heartbreak and spiritual awakening, the speaker in these poems pieces together her past. Her voice, anchored in raw emotion and resilience, is her guide. Ultimately, she learns that every ending, every loss has led her to her true self. Candid and heartfelt, Where the Soil Remembers is an intimate journey inward, one that unearths love, self-discovery, and self-acceptance. It holds a mirror to these experiences so that readers may see themselves and learn how to become whole.

C Lynn is the author of Wash Me Away, the first installment of the Alchemy of Her Soul series. The poetic series continues with Where the Soil Remembers: Earth. Lynn draws inspiration from her life and the moments when she has felt silenced and invisible. Writing allows her to feel alive and heard. She hopes others will connect with and see themselves in her poems. When she’s not journalling, Lynn enjoys the outdoors, spending time with her kids, and reading. She was born and raised in Manitoba.
