Tacos with Strangers
by
Joelle Lussi Milz
It’s the first day of school, and Rosa is about to face her biggest nightmare. Teachers? Nope. Homework? Think again. No, what Rosa is worried about is … TACOS ... with STRANGERS! The crumbly shell! The drippy meat! The slippery, sloppy fillings! Won’t anyone save her from this messy humiliation?! This is a book for anyone who has ever worried about fitting in, standing out, or trying something new. Join Rosa as she learns that even the biggest messes don’t have to be disasters. In fact, they might even help her make a new friend!
Joelle Lussi Milz is a teacher and mother of three who has spent eighteen years working in the field of education. In that time, she has seen many children get anxious about meeting new people or being in new situations. Tacos with Strangers was inspired by a conversation with her sister, who shares Rosa’s worries about eating with strangers. Joelle loves encouraging others and helping children be brave. She lives in Pennsylvania with her husband, three taco-loving children, and two cats.
