Carry Forward
Against the Tides
by Truong Ly

On nights of flight, a mother pressed her son against her chest—through jungles, graves, oceans, and silence. She carried him beyond war and betrayal into a future she would never see for herself. Carry Forward is not only about escape from Vietnam. It is about sacrifice as inheritance, love as resistance, and the unseen weight every parent bears for their child. With lyrical precision and unflinching memory, Truong Ly offers a love letter to all who gave everything in silence—those whose stories are etched not in monuments, but in the children who lived because of them.
