The Poetry Book for Us Kids
by Linda-Dawn Brown-Thomson

Roc the Croc needs a tooth pulled, Simon has lost his smile, and Kel the dragon is here to make us smile on long rainy days! The Poetry Book for Us Kids is written through the eyes of a child. It explores youthful joys and fears with humour, imagination, and, of course, rhyme. With poems written just for kids (though like-minded adults are sure to have fun, too!), it tells stories, asks questions, and reminds kids that they aren’t alone in their thoughts and experiences. From keen observations about the world to fanciful stories featuring clever characters, there’s something for everyone in these poems. Funny, vivid, and thoughtful, readers will delight in this charming poetry collection.

For previous book, "Finding Us." "Finding Us is a magical book. The author weaves a story with fantasy and humour creating a message of enduring care and hope. This is a book for all ages, and reminds us that it is possible to find our way back home or perhaps to a better world." —Dr Janet McCullough, MD "A fantastic story! One that will be loved by both adults and children." —Kim Dow MD, FRCP(C) Paediatrics "A magical story of three friends who embark on an adventure, each seeking a family and a place where they will be completely accepted....The story will reassure youngsters who feel they don't fit in, that they are not alone, and finding a sense of belonging is possible." —Maxine Clarke MD, FRCP(C) Paediatrics "Finding Us provides parents, teachers and children with the opportunity to discuss what makes a friend....What does a friend do? Who can be a friend? Why does having a friend make you stronger? These are the kind of questions that promote kindness and empathy in a child friendly context. Finding Us will be a delightful addition to any library for your children." —Barbara Wright Primary School Teacher(Ret.)
