Tamara is adamant that all people with schizophrenia can recover with the right medication and support. Her story is an example of how even in extreme cases schizophrenia can be managed with the right medications and doses. It took more than 5 years for Tamara to fully recover from this tragic illness, in the end she was in a better place than before the onset of psychosis.
Tamara is a high-functioning person with schizophrenia, who is an engineer and a single mom. She works full-time as a product manager and enjoys knitting, painting, and running. Tamara has a german shepherd cross who stayed with her in and out of psychosis. Tamara has two older brothers, and she is close to both of them. Her mother has been a huge part of her recovery, and caring for her daughter has given her a purpose to live up to. Too Far From the Path, which details the time of her life when she was in full-blown psychosis, is Tamara’s first book.
