Gregory Ghost
Children's Celebration Series -a Hallowe'en story
by Maureen F. Reynolds

Gregory Ghost is a Halloween story about a little ghost who is afraid to go out trick or treating. He overcomes his fears and surprises his family. In addition, the story is enhanced by short original songs with piano scores that older children could play. This book is easily turned into a musical play that a group of young children can act out. It includes cutouts and pictures that could be coloured.

Frances Balodis (B.A., B.Ed., M.Ed., A.R.C.T., R.M.T.) states that Gregory Ghost is an imaginative book with a wonderful story and musical songs. Illustrated story, activities and music (with easy piano score)

Maureen F. Reynolds (B.A., B. Ed., retired R.M.T.) Maureen was born in Surrey, B.C. She and her husband have celebrated over 55 years of marriage and raised their two children in Halifax, N. S. She obtained her B.A. at the University of British Columbia and her B.Ed. at Dalhousie University. She started teaching music in her mother's studio. After her marriage she taught music in Junior High School in Canberra, Australia. Later she taught music in two private schools in Halifax. She began teaching private piano lessons in 1974 and became a Registered Music Teacher in 1989. Today she teaches three of her grandsons. She also taught "Music for Young Children" for 18 years, wrote music for this program and won a "Cornerstone Award" in 2008 for her contribution to this program. Her main interest is teaching children to enjoy music. Gregory Ghost is the first book of the "Celebration Series". It was written for story time in her son's Beaver Colony that she was leading. The music was added at a friend's suggestion. Gregory Ghost was a very welcome addition to her "Music for Young Children" classes.
