Wild Thing
by
Lorna Nelson
A new ride has come to the park, Wild Thing. It’s the tallest, fastest and scariest slide the kids have ever seen. Ellie and her best friend Sophie are excited as they head to the park to have a ride down Wild Thing. However, there’s a problem. Ellie has a hidden fear of heights. She doesn’t climb ladders or even go on the monkey bars at school. No one knows her secret, not even Sophie. Will she be able to hide this from Sophie or will Ellie have the courage to climb Wild Thing and face her fears?
Lorna Nelson is an elementary teacher. As an educator, she continually uses children’s books as learning tools for her students. Her love for reading and telling stories encouraged her to take writing courses. Lorna’s book ideas are inspired by her lively grandchildren and many childhood memories. Lorna lives with her husband in Saskatoon, Saskatchewan.
