The Blind Princess Adventures
Sara Goes to School
by
Shawna Parsons
Sara is excited to take on her first day of school… but she’s also a little nervous. What if the other kids don’t like her? What if they think she’s too different? With her princess wand guide cane in hand, Sara will get to know her new school, her new teacher and her new classmates. She might even teach a lesson of her own: Sometimes, you just need to adapt!

Shawna Parsons has been an early childhood educator for over a decade. Her experience working with children with visual impairments and her own personal experience with vision loss over the course of her career inspired her to bring more awareness to those with invisible disabilities. She hopes to remind readers that we are not all so different from one another and to show compassion always, because you never know what one might be going through. Shawna is a creative person by nature. You can find her writing, reading, creating cards, baking, swimming, playing bingo and spending time with friends and family. She resides with her husband and three cats in Winnipeg, Manitoba.
