Vampires in BC
by
Keith Costelloe
In a quiet city in British Columbia, vampires stalk a hospital, looking for victims to milk, kill, or recruit as partial vampires that instinctively desire humans for their life-giving blood. Although Jude loves the power of being a partial vampire, which includes shapeshifting into whatever he wants, he struggles with guilt over the harm his vampiric nature may cause. His human side clings to his past, but as a vampire he has access to a world of power, immortality, and liberation from human limitations. Should he work to destroy the world he lives in and dominate the planet, or side with humans in fighting the vampires that control him?
“With VAMPIRES IN BC, Keith Costelloe breathes new life and injects fresh blood into the vampire genre, taking established lore and turning it on its head with ingenious aplomb. Follow his rich and diverse characters on an epic journey of self-discovery, survival and redemption. This is a cracking read from the first page to the last. Highly recommended!” —Neil Marshall, Director of The Descent and Dog Soldiers “What sets Vampires in BC apart is its innovative take on vampire mythology and the dynamics of a vampire-human hybrid society. The inclusion of the Children of Sasquatch introduces a unique twist to the narrative.” —Launch Pad Review. “This book is a true breath of fresh air in the supernatural genre, characterized by snappy dialog and vividly descriptive scenes. Humor is also skillfully woven throughout the book, enhancing the modern setting mixed with vampire lore, which creates a fascinating and entertaining backdrop.” —5 Stars. April Pullia, Assistant Editor, Literary Titan
Keith has lived and worked abroad but has now settled in White Rock, BC, with his dog, Rosie. Recently, while in hospital and re-reading Bram Stoker’s Dracula, he became intrigued, wondering what happened to the blood samples collected by the nurses. Vampires in BC emerged. Keith is a member of the CAA, FBCW and various writing and poetry groups and is involved with a theatrical organization, Peninsula Productions.
