Remember Me When I'm with You
by
Donna Legere
Every child is different. Sometimes, we need reminding of how beautiful that difference can be! We all need to show kindness and patience for everyone in our lives, especially children who learn differently. This sweet book, told in verse, is full of reminders for children to be kind to each other, and to think about the ways we’re all different from one another. It talks about everything from learning about colours and emotions to finding safety and friendship with the people close to us. We all deserve to be respected and accepted as we walk through our lives. Not everyone is just like us, and we have to care for and help those around us whenever we can!
Donna Legere has been an Early Childhood Educator for over thirty years, and has worked with many children who have learning disabilities. Her passion is to teach children to include others, support them, and be a part of their learning in every way they can. Donna loves walking, being on the lake, crocheting, and spending time with her grandchildren. After one of her grandchildren had a seizure, she had to relearn how to walk, talk, eat, and familiarize herself with her family. She had to work hard to get back those skills. Donna was inspired by that experience to write a book reminding kids that we all learn differently, and that kindness is the most important thing in the world. Donna lives in Quesnel BC, with her husband of three decades. They have two dachshunds, one cat, three grown children, and seven grandchildren.
