My Many Lives
by
Howard Byrd Lockhart
THE ODDS OF BEING STRUCK BY LIGHTNING OCE IN A LIFETIME ARE 1 IN 15,300. Two times—even less likely. When author Howard Byrd Lockhart was hit by lightning at an Indy car race, it seemed like nothing but bad luck. When it happened a second time some years later, followed by numerous other near misses in his life, Lockhart knew his experiences defied all odds. My Many Lives is a collection of stories about survival and determination. Filled with adventures and close calls, Lockhart takes readers through the significant events of his early life—falling out of a moving car at six years old and surviving a runaway train wreck as a teenager while working for the Southern Pacific Railroad. Entertaining and informative, these stories not only highlight the wild events of one man’s life but also show how he endured major life changes. My Many Lives proves that adversity doesn’t have to be the end—it can be a new beginning. There are life lessons to be learned from My Many Lives.
HOWARD BYRD LOCKHART was a retired athlete, coach and bush pilot. After earning his Master of Education, he and his wife moved to Canada where he coached for several years before changing careers into municipal recreation. He later became a commercial pilot and started his own air service business. When not writing, Howard enjoyed his family, visiting Texas, studying history, horseback riding, golfing and fishing. Howard lived in Sioux Lookout, Ontario, with his wife of fifty-nine years and their dog Dallas until his death on July 3, 2023. My Many Lives was his first book.
