Through These Eyes
A Personal Journey From Catastrophe to Possibility
by
Clark Lord
In June of 2010, Clark Lord was in a car accident which shifted the direction of all things, most notably, his brain and spine. Many of his abilities were either drastically altered or rendered to ashes. Writing, however, remained intact, and through the wisdom of the cosmos, even improved! Upon that discovery, and with the knowledge that many around him no longer had the ability to tell their story, Clark set forth on the mission to tell the tale of progress from that fateful day up until the present. “This is a story of making the impossible routine. This is also a story of making the routine impossible. This is a story of the unexpected, leading to a place of no expectations. This is the story of going from the forgotten to the unforgettable. A story of having to lose it all, in order to find it. A story of beating the odds to betting on myself. This is a story. This could be your story. This is my story."
“I’ve been with Clark since he settled his battle with the insurance companies. At that time, he was far from recovered. It has been amazing to watch him emerge from the ashes of catastrophic injury and financial fragmentation to rise above his disabilities, take the reins of his life, and charge forward.” —Daniel K. Carroll, Senior Partner, Hudson Wealth & Trust Planning Group, Toronto, Canada. “A must read for those seeking inspiration about strength, courage and determination at the time of adversity." —B. Cristian Ulic, MD, FRCPC Staff Psychiatrist, Mount Sinai Hospital, Toronto, Canada.
Clark writes, plays music, volunteers, stays sober, survives, travels as much as possible, tries not to end up in prison, tries to wake people up and question what life is for, and tests the boundaries of life. He lives in Whitby, is self-reliant, not in an institution, cleans his own toilet, is a vinyl collector, teaches writing classes, offers music therapy. His goal is to coach people on trusting themselves and living from the soul. He used to be a hippie but now has to find a way to live in this world.
