Inner Flames
by J. Kichuk

Inner Flames is a collection of poems written in a time of deep realization. Inspired by both the real and the imaginary, the poems touch deep in the heart and ask questions about the way things are, have always been, or can be. They are a journey through a moment, with uncomplicated phrasing and vivid imagery that acts as a springboard for reflections on complex emotions related to topics such as love, loss, and mental health. Motifs such as voyages, sailboats, and the colour blue provide this collection with a strong sense of narrative. It invites readers to turn each moment into a place of connection, and dive into the thoughts that take us all from time to time. Whether you are ready to laugh, cry, smile, or frown, there is a poem here waiting for you

"All we have to do is decide what to do with the time that is given to us." - Gandalf

J. Kichuk has always loved writing stories. She took to poetry because it reflects the way she sees the world. She is an avid gamer, particularly enjoying open worlds, RPGs, and horror, and the lighter side of those games inspires many of her poems. She loves listening to music while she writes, and drawing. She often turns friends into dinosaurs and makes comic strips about their adventures. When she isn’t creating art, Kichuk likes to travel around and work while she can. Recently she moved back to Ontario to pursue work.
