Grandpa's Garden
by Evangeline Anthony

One day at school, a teacher tells her class that she has a special project for them: they have to write a story using adverbs and adjectives! Some of the kids know exactly what they want to write, but one student has no idea what to write about. Where will he find all of the adverbs and adjectives that he needs? The next day is Saturday, and his family goes to visit his grandpa. While watering his grandpa’s garden, the boy learns facts about garden creatures, the harvesting season, and all the tools of a gardener. He sees pink cherry blossoms, a buzzing bee, and fluffy clouds passing slowly by. As he looks around the garden, he sees that there are adverbs and adjectives all around him! And he knows exactly what he wants to write about. This delightful story for young readers teaches children all about adjectives, adverbs, and the natural beauty of plants and gardens.

Evangeline Anthony loves to read, and has always wanted to write a book. When her son came home with an assignment to create his own language lesson, she had the idea to write a story. It wasn’t long before she had written her first book, a delightful story about language and learning. Anthony loves teaching her son and sharing her knowledge, as well as listening to soul music. Anthony lives in Toronto, Ontario, with her husband and son.
