Shoe on the Road
A book of Short Stories
by
Gloria Dupont
Shoe on the Road is a collection of short stories examining the origins of deserted footwear. Inspired by real events, the stories deal with real-life issues—everything from drug abuse to poverty to physical and sexual abuse—that eventually lead to a shoe being abandoned in an unusual place. These thought-provoking tales offer an opportunity for self-reflection, compassion, and an understanding that sometimes bad things happen to good people.
Gloria Dupont is a contract bookkeeper who has always dreamed of publishing a book. She previously taught English and drama to elementary and junior high students and worked as an elementary school librarian for many years. Being a mother to four and grandmother to nine is one of the greatest joys in Gloria’s life. She also enjoys golfing in the Okanagan, travelling, gardening, and walking her dog. Gloria lives in Vernon, BC, with her husband, Gerry, and their dog, Scooter.
