Daddy Dragon Wants a Nap
by
Byung Chun
Baby Dragon wants to play, but Daddy Dragon keeps falling asleep!
What is a baby dragon to do when his Daddy is taking a nap and he wants to play? Well, that’s easy! Wake him up! Baby tries to get Daddy to play in all sorts of fun and silly ways—ways that only a dragon can. From starting fires to jabbing his dad with the spikes on his back, Baby Dragon is causing a whole lot of mischief. All he wants to do is wake Daddy Dragon up, but he’s in for a big surprise!
This delightful story for young readers lets every kid imagine themselves in the role of Baby Dragon. And hopefully doesn’t give them any ideas about waking their dad up from a nap!
Byung Chun has two children who, in the course of trying to wake him up, have repeatedly hurt him in a wide variety of ways. They have a whole lot of energy, just like Baby Dragon, and are always trying a lot of weird and probably dangerous things! His kids love to hear stories about themselves, so to keep them fresh, Chun rewrote those true stories as the actions of a dragon family. The kids loved the dragon bedtime stories, and loved to pretend to be Baby Dragon. Now Chun has written the first of those stories as Daddy Dragon Wants a Nap.
Chun lives in Grimsby, Ontario, with his wife and two kids, who are nicknamed Monkey and Bear. They also have a very jumpy dog…probably from living with two wild dragons!
