Wiley
The Adventures of a Wacky Water Droplet: Evaporation
by Kayla Jeffries

“Oh, for the love of rain.” Wiley is a tiny water droplet with lots of questions: “What is my purpose, and why do we fall? Why are the clouds so wide and so tall? Where do droplets come from, and how do we change? What is beyond the clouds? I find this so strange.” When he realizes his fear of evaporation is the only path to his greatest desire—finding his true purpose in life—Wiley’s strength and curiosity propel him towards an adventure of a lifetime. Wiley: The Adventures of a Wacky Water Droplet is a story about courage, perseverance, and bravery.

“Told in lilting, lyrical rhyming prose, Wiley is a beautiful picture book about discovery, self-realization, and uniqueness.” — The Children’s Book Review

Kayla Jeffries wrote the first draft of Wiley: The Adventures of a Wacky Water Droplet as a child for an assignment on evaporation. The more she researched, the more she became interested in the beauty that water and the water cycle brings to everything—an interest that followed her throughout her childhood and into adulthood. When she was in college, she was inspired to rewrite Wiley during a project on plastic pollution in the oceans. She wanted to help educate children about the water cycle and modern-day environmental impacts. Wiley: The Adventures of a Wacky Water Droplet - Evaporation is Kayla’s first book and part of a series she is writing about environmental issues.
