The Inheritance of the Cedar Grove Resort
by Deloris Packard

They say you should never go into business with family. But what if it’s a family run business like the Cedar Grove Resort in the Muskoka’s cottage country. When her mother dies, Debbie Delanie gains two unwilling business partners: her older sisters. Their sisterly bond has always held them together. Being business partners could now tear them apart. Can they come together to protect their inheritance or will they lose everything?

Deloris Packard grew up in Harcourt Ontario, a small town based at the bottom tip of Algonquin Provincial Park. She is the youngest of eight children raised on a small hobby farm. As a teenager she spent her summers working in various lodges in and around the Haliburton Highlands. She graduated from Canadore College in North Bay with a diploma in Hotel, Resort and Restaurant Management. Deloris worked many years in the hospitality industry in various positions. She has worked in Alberta, Manitoba and the North West Territories but spent most of her career working in Ontario. Along with her husband she was the owner operator of The Corner Café, a restaurant in the heart of cottage country, five miles from her family home. Having many siblings and varied experience in the hospitality industry, has given her the capability to tell this story from an inside perspective.
