COME IN… THE DOOR IS OPEN Tendrils of my soul stretch out to you in every poem and short story. Love, humor, pathos, beauty, and nuggets of wisdom wait to touch your soul. Allow the light within a poem or short story to illuminate an unexpected or unexplored facet of your life. Have you ever loved a silverfish?
Writing is the career I would have chosen if money had not been an issue. I loved working as a surgical research technician, then as a French teacher to elementary-level students. As a wife and mother, I honed my love of writing with the growth of reading excellent writing of other authors. College-bound children motivated me to return to school to study nursing. As a psychiatric nurse, I watched troubled adolescents find motivation and success in their lives, and I felt fulfillment. After thirteen years of nursing, my husband’s heart surgery brought me home to care for him. I found time to write and spread my wings publishing a life-style book, They Think I Can Cook—Help! My novel, The Gatehouse, came to me in a dream, and writing it filled my life with joy. My next joy has been writing this book of poetry and short stories, Come In…The Door Is Open. I am pleased to share my soul and imagination with you.
