We all live somewhere—in a house, an apartment, or maybe even on a farm— but wherever we live, we have to understand what makes our home amazing and what dangers we should look out for. Animals are no different. Whether they live in the ocean, the forest, or the grassy plains of Africa, young animals have to learn to be safe in their surroundings, even as they experience fun adventures. You are invited to join Jimmy The Giraffe, Sydney The Shark, and Gia The Grizzly Bear on their adventures, as they learn from their parents, and from experience, just how amazing and wild their homes are, and how to stay alive and be safe to enjoy all their surroundings have to offer. Each story is a learning adventure for young readers. An opportunity to learn about animals and their environments, how to understand our animal friends and how they live in their homes.
From a very young age, Amin Arikat has been interested in both writing and learning about animals and their role in the natural world. Starting from when he was a boy, and throughout his life, Amin loved to write, this included creative shorts stories, comic books, to writing for his college newspaper, and eventually as a contributor for various online sports sites. He has always enjoyed writing about the natural world. His reading and writing have kept him fascinated by nature and the special kinship that we, as humans, share with nature. Amin is very pleased to have been able to combine these two interests in this collection of stories, with which he hopes to empower kids and readers of all ages to appreciate and learn about animals in the wild. He wanted to share his enjoyment and appreciation of animals with his family- his wife Naz, their daughter Paree and son Samir. His hope is that knowing more about animals, and their importance in our world, new generations will be inspired to protect and help animals survive and flourish in their natural environments.
