What Happened To My Auntie
by Meghan Zarobniak

A little boy gets so excited when his Auntie comes over to play with him. However, one day his Auntie explains to him that she lives with several conditions that cause her body to be in chronic pain. Find out how this little boy feels and what he does to still spend time with his Auntie.

Meghan has lived with chronic pain since she was 16 years old. She has also been diagnosed with autoimmune disorders and a traumatic brain injury which are the sources of her chronic pain. She has attended many chronic pain management and brain injury programs. It was in a program that she realized there is not a lot of literature on the child’s prospective on adult illnesses. Meghan loves to incorporate social stories into her work with children. Since 2017, she has been unable to work in the traditional workforce and since has focused her energy into the mind-body connection, therapeutic writing, swimming and yoga. Meghan continues to live in Northern Ontario while traveling to her family’s cottage, outside the community of Burk’s Falls. Meghan gets her inspiration for writing children’s books from her medical professionals, nieces/nephews, friends as well as her parents who are her number one cheerleader.
