The Greatest Trick
by
Madeline Speer
The Greatest Trick by Madeline Speer is a hauntingly beautiful collection of poetry and prose revealing episodes of pain, endurance, and survival in the aftermath of abuse and divorce. In this deeply raw and painful collection, Speer’s genuine writing journeys through the emotional trials of losing love and rebuilding. Divorce is painful, depression is painful, and the prose that unites these powerful experiences speaks directly to its readers to say that they are not alone, and they, too, will be okay.
An avid journalist since early childhood, Madeline Speer has crafted this collection of poetry to give voice to a painful and formative chapter in her life. She holds a Bachelor’s degree in Elementary Education as well as Master’s of Science in Education with an emphasis as a Literacy Specialist. Speer is a Pacific Northwest transplant and is a hiking and climbing enthusiast. She lives in Kansas with her two dogs, Ariel and Sadie.
