The Garden Crew are back! In this charming new story, The Garden Crew Meet Stanley, we meet Stanley, an adorable freckle-faced Harbor Seal. Stanley has slipped, dipped and flapped his flippers all the way up the river to the Magic Tree. Here he meets the Garden Crew! And oh, what fun they have! Join this adorable group of friends in their latest and most heart wrenching adventure. Their new friend, Stanley, runs into trouble! Oh, NO! Can the Garden Crew save him? Let’s hope so! Along with the importance of friendship and being willing to do all you can to help your friend, this rhyming story shares a message about the dangers of plastic trash in our oceans. Carolyn Harris, a retired middle and high school English teacher, counts opening her students’ eyes to the pleasures of reading among her greatest accomplishments. Books are everything to Carolyn, and she believes the books she read growing up shaped the person she became. Her love of words and books continues to this day. Carolyn lives on the harbor in Saint John, New Brunswick, where she watches seals sliding through the water, and marvels at the power of nature on the Bay of Fundy. She calls herself, “the luckiest person alive,” to live in this setting, where the tides meet up with the might of the Saint John River. It was here that she first fell in love with seals, whose sweet little faces would peer back at her through her windows. Before long, one funny little fellow became Stanley, and the third book in the series had its beginning.
