Allene Beets has lived a long and interesting life including working as a schoolteacher, child-welfare investigator, and Girl Scout field director on six Native American reservations in Arizona. She has two children, five grandchildren, seven great grandchildren, and two great great grandchildren. Living in the Sonoran Desert in Tucson, Arizona since nineteen fifty-five gave her the inspiration to begin writing these children’s stories in her eighty-ninth year. The year 2018 is a special one for having this book published because it is also the year Allene turns 100 years old.
