The Adventures Of Aussie and Otis
by
R.P. Huttinga
Aussie is a retired sled dog who just wants a cozy bed and warm blankets to nap in. One morning she wakes up and is surprised to find that her family have adopted a tiny pug puppy named Otis. Little Otis is a bundle of energy and is full of questions for his new big sister, and Aussie finds that she likes to teach him about the world just as much as he likes to learn. In this adorable tale of unlikely best friends, readers will see that retired sled dogs are wonderful companions – whether you’re a human or a pug!
R.P. Huttinga and his family adopted Aussie when she was 12 and Otis when he was just 8 weeks old. The two dogs became fast friends despite their age differences, and the idea for this book was sparked when the author noticed the two furry pals walking their favourite trail in Lake Cowichan, BC. This is the first book in a series of Aussie and Otis adventures, and is R.P.’s first book. He lives on Vancouver Island with his wife and daughter.
