John Friesen: The Man Behind the Machines
A Memoir
by
Edna Manning
To my family,
I trust that the account written here will encourage and motivate you to do your best in all your endeavours, and to help others along your life's pathway.... your dad, grand-dad and great-grand-dad.
Edna Manning grew up on a small farm in north-central Saskatchewan where she learned to love all aspects of country living. From an early age, writing became a form of her personal expression and a creative outlet. For about twenty years she has been freelancing for various publications. This has provided her with the opportunity to meet many of Saskatchewan’s skilled artisans, craftspeople, gardeners, writers and entrepreneurs and to highlight their talents. John Friesen is one of these skilled entrepreneurs and Edna found writing his biography a privilege and an honour.
Edna lives with her husband George on an acreage near Saskatoon. They have three grown children. She loves reading, gardening and cooking healthy meals.
