A Prey to All
by Robert Sanderson

Set in two different time periods – 1965 to 1979 and 2017 to the present– and two different countries – Canada and Brazil – two intriguing stories. Sonny is lost, unsure of what to take in university – pre-med is out– but what is left? The strange woman who visits him in the China Room in the middle of the night is haggard, searching drawers for a missing gold necklace with a ruby – but why? Richard, an insurance underwriter in Rio de Janeiro, lies about compensation – but to what end? All are part of a world where some human beings are hunted down, others destroyed, and some find salvation after discovering what is truly important in life. In A Prey to All Robert Sanderson not only gives us two entertaining stories but also confronts us with some of the deepest and most perplexing of human questions: Who are we and what is our destiny?

Robert Sanderson is a Canadian novelist whose literary fiction explores enduring philosophical questions about life, purpose, identity, accountability, and the search for meaning. Sanderson is the author of Money Boss and Destroying Max – the latter novel rooted in the historical legacy of the Allan Memorial Institute and the CIA’s MKULTRA program that a Kirkus reviewer termed “An eloquent, unblinking cautionary tale of hidden puppeteers playing power games”. He lives in Thunder Bay, Ontario, Canada.
