To solve the problem of rabble on city streets, protesters and other outcasts, riffraff and rainbow people have been relocated to garbage dumps across the country, Over the generations they develop a complex society of their own and even a religion: "The Darwin's Witnesses". Eventually they discover that there are others like them and they begin to network. But interference from a pair of government appointed garbologists provokes a reckoning.

Michelle Ernst is a part-time vampire slayer and prospective volunteer manager in Stratford Ontario. She brews parsnip wine and makes 4 leaf clover jam and hopes to own her own cow someday. She does not have any lemmings, although she thinks they are nice. And she hopes to write more entertaining propaganda in the future.
